From fishermen to provider of safety and support

ESVAGT builds on a strong cultural heritage from fishermen working at sea. Founded in 1981, it is our objective to provide safety and support at sea. We have developed rapidly over the past decades, with continuous improvements in products and services.

Today, ESVAGT is still a dedicated provider of safety and support at sea and draws on an experienced and well-trained offshore crew and unmatched rescue capabilities.

1981

Founded and office established at Kølen 1, Esbjerg, Denmark.

1985

The ESVAGT BRAVO rescues 8 people from the coaster 'Pauline S'.

1990

The ESVAGT OMEGA and the ESVAGT PROTECTOR rescue 46 people from the rig ‘West Gamma’.

2002

ESVAGT enters for the first time into the offshore wind industry at the Horns Rev 1 wind farm.

2003

The ESVAGT ALPHA rescues 12 people from the coaster 'Silva'.

2005

The ESVAGT OMEGA rescues 15 people from the cargo ship 'Schieborg'.

2010

ESVAGT secures its first long-term wind contract with the vessel ESVAGT SUPPORTER for Vestas Offshore at the offshore wind farm Belwind in Belgian sector.

2011

The ESVAGT PRESERVER becomes the first ESVAGT vessel with 20 years without accidents.

2012

Three multirole vessels arrive; the ESVAGT STAVANGER, ESVAGT SERVER and ESVAGT AURORA. The latter is the first ESVAGT vessel built specifically for operations in the Arctic areas.

2014

ESVAGT moves into its new premises at Dokvej 4 in Esbjerg.

2015

ESVAGT’s SOV fleet is further expanded with two purpose-built SOV newbuildings for offshore wind: ESVAGT FROUDE and ESVAGT FARADAY.

Change of ownership: 3i Infrastructure and AMP Capital acquire ESVAGT from the Maersk Group and ESE Holding.

2016

Third SOV newbuilding ESVAGT NJORD joins the fleet.

2017

The ESVAGT SOV fleet expands with ESVAGT MERCATOR.

2018

ESVAGT is awarded two SOV contracts with a duration of up to 15 years by Vestas for the wind farms Borssele III-IV (NL) and Triton Knoll (UK).

ESVAGT DANA bring ESVAGT’s SOV fleet to five.

2019

ESVAGT ALBERT BETZ joins ESVAGT’s SOV fleet.

2020

ESVAGT SCHELDE is ESVAGT’s seventh SOV newbuilding.

2021

The ESVAGT PRESERVER becomes the first ESVAGT vessel with 30 years without accidents.

ESVAGT establishes joint venture with American maritime company Crowley to support the emerging offshore wind industry in the U.S.

2022

Partly change of ownership:
AMP Capital sold their 50% ownership to 3i Infrastructure.

2022

ESVAGT sign agreement with Ørsted on the world's first green fuel vessel for offshore wind operations.

2023

ESVAGT and CROWLEYs Joint Venture sign agreement with Siemens on a US built SOV for the largest US offshore windfarm.

2023

ESVAGT and Ørsted sign an agreement for a second green SOV

2024

ESVAGT signs contract for a new SOV to service Vestas at Ecowende's Hollandse Kust West offshore wind farm in the Netherlands

2024

ESVAGT has signed a MOU with South Korean maritime company KMC Line to offer long-term services to offshore wind in Korea.
