Shaping offshore wind for a decade

Building on the innovative Service Operations Vessel (SOV)-concept, ESVAGT is the market leader in the offshore wind industry.

300.000 transfers and counting, ESVAGT continues to set the mark for operational excellence.

“Our SOV-concept is a green transition enabler by adding competences, safety and efficiency to offshore wind parks”
CEO Peter Lytzen, ESVAGT

‘Esvagt Froude’ and Esvagt Faraday’ were gamechangers in the offshore wind industry, when the two Service Operation Vessels (SOV) arrived in 2015.

Purpose-built for the emerging offshore wind sector, the two SOV’s were true pioneers in the green energy transition. Drawing on ESVAGT’s already extensive experience in offshore wind parks, the two SOV’s concentrated ESVAGTs 40 years of safe and competent sea faring into an innovative new concept that still sets the bar today.

Over the past decade, ESVAGT SOV’s has transferred more than 300.000 people between SOVs and wind turbines, either through the motions compensated gangways or the ESVAGT Safety Transfer Boats (STBs).

ESVAGT SOV-concept remains the standard-bearer for an effective, safe, and innovative service operation in an offshore wind park. ESVAGT continues to be the frontrunner and market leader in offshore wind; currently operating eight SOVs in four countries with further new buildings scheduled for delivery in 2021.

In 2021, ESVAGT entered a joint venture with U.S.-based Crowley forming a U.S.-based company providing SOV services for the growing offshore wind industry in the U.S.

ESVAGTs dedication to moving the green transition forward is as strong as ever. The development of a fully CO2 emission free SOV now available to customers emphasizes ESVAGTs continued commitment to the green transition.
